Uganda

We run a range of affordable schools across Uganda, working closely with the Ministry for Education and Sports to help improve education outcomes. Over two-thirds of our schools have been fully approved by local district officials with the remainder in the final stages of the process.

We design lessons based on the Ugandan curriculum. In 2017, our first cohort of pupils sat the national exit exam (PLE) and 100% of pupils passed. Over 93% of Bridge graduates scored in division 1 or 2, compared to 56% nationwide; falling to only 44% in the eastern districts where the majority of our schools are.

“I am so proud of my success and my parents are really excited! I worked really hard and had lots of help from my teachers so hoped that I could do well. I want to be a Civil Servant… and maybe even a minister one day. Now it’s possible and I would never have achieved this without Bridge.”

Dada Jane Nabutere, Bridge Uganda graduate from Tororo District of eastern Uganda.
