Fifteen-year-old Princess is in Grade Five at Bridge Liberia, J W Pearson in Monrovia, capital city of Liberia. She lives with her parents; her mother is very involved in the community as a charity cook and her father is a tailor. Princess says of her school: “Now, school is different. The teacher shows up to teach. They use computers, which we can follow in our books. I like this very much, the teachers have more time for us and answer all of my questions.” Princess, whose favourite subject is Science, wants to be a doctor when she’s older, she says: “They teach us about the human body. I really like to learn more about the world around me and how things work.”
