Pupil in Liberia
Meet Gabla Nyanti (above, far right) an enthusiastic student at Little Wlebo Public School who refuses to allow his circumstances to affect his education.
Gabla has albinism, a congenital condition in which sufferers lack pigment in their skin and hair, making them appear white. It can often impact their vision. However, being visibly different from his school friends has not dissuaded him from accessing high-quality education, and he certainly enjoys going to school every day.
Gabla’s teachers do their best to accomodate his needs. They always let him sit close to the blackboard in order to clearly see all the notes he needs.
