History

Kenya was where we launched our social enterprise, opening our first school in Nairobi’s Mukuru Kwa Njenga slum in 2009. Now, we support hundreds of community schools across 43 of the 47 counties.

Over the years we have been proud to partner with the Kenyan government. We supported the Ministry of Education to develop the APBET guidelines, a pathway to registration for tens of thousands of informal private schools across the country. We were also a pilot partner in the roll out of the new national Kenyan curriculum.

Since 2015, our pupils have excelled in the national primary exit exam (KCPE) and have been awarded places at some of Kenya’s top secondary schools, and won scholarships to prestigious US high schools.

We are headquartered in Nairobi.
